About time I updated this. I’m not 22 anymore, for one thing. I’m a US Army infantryman stationed at Fort Bliss, TX, but I’ll be getting medically separated for a wrecked left knee any week now. I tore my ACL soon after deployment during combatives (hand to hand) training, and have not recovered well.
I’m probably moving to Alaska this fall to attend UAF. I intend to enter the mining/geological engineering program.
This is obviously mainly a gun blog. My number one hobby is collecting and shooting guns. I reload, and will probably start casting soon as well. My chosen discipline, as in where 90% of my money goes to in the gun world, is practical shooting–truly practical: I don’t download my ammo for better scores. I shoot with the guns, gear, and ammo I rely on for self defense. I’m not competing now, largely because I can’t find ammo, but I intend to start competing in IPSC and IDPA again in 2010.
I’m also a fairly hardcore offroader, and I own a lightly modified 2001 Jeep Cherokee (XJ). Some offroading/mechanical posts will show up, certainly, as I do as much of my own work on my Jeep as I can. Jeeping is my second hobby, but thanks to Obama, I’m blowing all my money on guns right now. Sorry Jeep, you don’t get a new front differential cover or transmission service this month.
I have a lot of strong political opinions, but I’m trying to stay away from that crap right now. Once I’m discharged, well, the floodgates will open.
